Surviving Cancer: How I became ‘the walking miracle’
The doctors, consultants and nurses call me ‘the walking miracle’. People ask what made the difference. How did I beat cancer? What insights could I
Can you identify the causes of anxiety and stress in your life?
Do your fears prevent you from being the person you want to be?
Have your lived experiences and life history left you feeling alone in your thoughts and feelings?
What are the changes that you are desperately trying to make yet feel unable to move forward with?
Together we will:
Learn to discover your resilience by focusing on discovering your purpose
Have faith in your ability to cope with change by learning and practicing different ways of thinking
Find ways to break out of the repetitive cycles of thinking about the past and to extend your thinking into the present moment
I am passionately curious about how the experience of our early lives together with our life circumstances and events influences our sense of who we are and how we relate to others.
My work with clients is to understand how and why difficulties emerge and the ways we go about protecting the self from painful feelings or trauma. I believe the complex work of psychotherapy, enables individuals to question carefully and in doing so helps remove the obstacles that obscure an individual’s vital core and restrict their well-being.
As a compassionate psychotherapist and cancer survivor, I provide support to individuals navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. I understand through my own lived experience the profound impact that a cancer journey can have on one’s emotional well-being.
I have worked across a wide range of clinical settings; NHS, university, schools and in private practice following a successful corporate career.
I gained a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford and was awarded a distinction for my research.
I currently hold membership with the BACP, UPCA and UKCP professional bodies.
